Davig’s
has gone Green!
In our effort
to do our part to help the environment, Davig’s Cleaners has made a switch
to a new solvent that contains no Hazardous Chemicals. Davig’s is the only one in the
Rockford, IL and surrounding areas, and only one of about 25 nationwide to
use DrySolvTM.
This solvent eliminates problems with waste disposal, worker
exposure, and environmental issues like global warming. It also serves as a replacement
for PERC, the most commonly used dry-cleaning solvent. There are many environmental
benefits, but DrySolvTM keeps colors brighter, whites whiter,
and clothes feeling softer after cleaning. Clothes can be cleaned in a
shorter time, and at very low temperatures.
DrySolvTM, from Dry
Cleaning Technologies, a division of Enviro Tech International Inc, is the
newest environmentally responsible solvent development on the market. It comes on the heels of major
PERC regulations and is the most viable new alternative. DrySolvTM was
developed 11 years ago under a different trade name, EnSolv, in the vapor
degreasing industry. EnSolv
is a variation of the DrySolvTM chemistry
that has matured into an internationally known solvent and has been
approved by large organizations, such as Boeing, to be the only
environmentally friendly alternative used to replace harsher
solvents. It is the only
patented chemistry of its kind and has proven to be the leading
alternative solvent in that industry.
Enviro Tech International Inc. now looks to make a
seamless transition into dry cleaning with Dry Cleaning Technologies and
DrySolvTM. DrySolvTM is superior
to all other solvent solutions for many reasons. It will make the dry cleaning more
efficient, and it will alleviate many concerns of all parties
involved. Here’s
why:
DrySolvTM is not
listed or expected to be a carcinogen (IARC).
DrySolvTM is
non-flammable and has no flashpoint.
(ASTM D-56 TCC, ASTM D-92 COC, ASTM D-93 TCC)
DrySolvTM is also
non-chlorinated.
DrySolvTM is
Non-hazardous. (DOT, OSHA,
NESHAP, RCRA, HAZCOM, Clean
Water Act)
DrySolvTM is not a
hazardous air pollutant and does not contribute to global warming. (NESHAP, Significant New
Alternative Program – SNAP approved (Federal EPA), not Title V)
DrySolvTM does not have a hazardous
decomposition or hazardous polymerization. Veoila
Environmental Services, a nationally known waste service company, has
established their Drum Express licensed waste-hauling program specifically
for DrySolvTM
users. DrySolvTM users are
given a comprehensive guideline package, helping to assure that all proper
methods and measures when dealing with DrySolvTM and
machinery are CONSISTENTLY followed. |
